Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. We will ask for personal information to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license, or other identifying documents.
Yes. All applicants, including Bell State Bank & Trust customers, are required to enter in all information requested on the application.
All applicants need to be 18 years of age to apply online. If you’re under the age of 18, please stop by one of our locations with a parent or guardian to open an account.
You’ll need the same information that’s needed when opening an individual account – but you’ll need information for both applicants. For details, please see the question and answer above. Please note that each co-applicant has to sign the account documents.

Completing your application process online should take about 10 minutes. Your application will then be processed. After being approved for your account by Bell State Bank & Trust, you have 10 business days to return your new account documents and fund your new account.
As part of your online application, you will be asked to give consent to receive certain account opening documents and notices from us electronically. Upon approval, you will be provided a confirmation code to obtain your new account documents. If you do not wish to consent to receiving documents electronically, you may visit any Bell State Bank & Trust location to apply in person.
Yes. Upon approval, you will receive a confirmation code to obtain your account documents with instruction to print, sign and return the documents to Bell State Bank & Trust. Your account will not be opened until we receive your account documents.
