Bell State Bank & Trust purchases Breckenridge bank building

Bell State Bank & Trust has finalized its purchase of a Breckenridge building previously occupied by RiverWood Bank. RiverWood has closed its community bank location here, located at 214 Fifth Street North in Breckenridge. Bell State Bank & Trust purchased the building today, November 14, and will open in the Breckenridge location in mid-January after remodeling is complete.

Bell State Bank & Trust is currently located at 209 Dakota Avenue in Wahpeton, and construction is also underway on a new, 6,000-square-foot bank at 717 Second Avenue North in Wahpeton. The new building is scheduled for completion in March.

“Bell State Bank & Trust’s purchase of the additional Breckenridge building positions us for growth to better serve both communities and the surrounding area,” said Rick Steckler, Bell State Bank & Trust location president and a longtime banker in Wahpeton and Breckenridge. “We have always had a goal of expanding into the Breckenridge community, and we are very excited to have this opportunity.”

Bell State Bank & Trust in Wahpeton was recently voted “Best of the Valley” for Best Place to Work and Bank with the Friendliest Tellers by readers of the Wahpeton Daily News.
