What is Twitter anyway? Twitter is an information network made up of 140-character messages called Tweets. It’s an easy way to discover the latest news related to subjects you care about.

How do I Tweet? Click the blue compose new Tweet button in the top navigation bar. It looks like this: . Make sure your update (message) is fewer than 140 characters. Twitter will count the characters for you! Click the Tweet button to post the Tweet to your profile. You will immediately see your Tweet in the timeline on your homepage. How do I Retweet? A retweet is a re-posting of someone else’s Tweet. Twitter’s retweet feature helps you and others quickly share that Tweet with all of your followers. To participate in the Bell State Bank & Trust Tweet it Forward Promotion, you could go to our Twitter account found by typing in @GoBellBanks in the search box at the top navigation bar. When you see a tweet about our promotion, hover over it with your mouse, and you will see a button that says, “Retweet.” Then, click the “Retweet” button and you’ve Retweeted the information and donated $5 to the United Way!

Tweet It Forward #BellBanksPIF2012 United Way Twitter Promotion Official Rules


The “2012 “Tweet It Forward” #BellBanksPIF2012 United Way Twitter Promotion” (hereafter called “Donation Program”) is open to individuals who, as of the commencement of this Donation Program, are permanent legal residents of the United States or District of Colombia and who have reached the age of majority in their home state (hereafter called “Entrant”). This Donation Program is void outside the United States and District of Colombia and where prohibited or restricted by law.


Bell State Bank & Trust (“Bell”) is the sponsor of this Donation Program.


Individuals may tweet beginning at 8:01 a.m. Central Standard Time (“CST”) on 10/17/2012 and ending at 11:59 a.m. CST on 11/15/2012 (the “Entry Period”). Bell is the official timekeeping for the Donation Program.


There is one (1) way to participate. Visit and tweet or retweet as directed by the @BellBanks handle with the language “#BellBanksPIF2012.”  For each tweet or retweet, Bell will donate Five ($5) Dollars to the United Way, with a maximum donation of Five Thousand ($5,000) Dollars.


By participating, each Entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of Bell, which are final in all respects.


On or before 11/9/2012, Bell will complete the donation.


Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Donation Program constitutes the  Entrant’s consent to Bell (and its designees, successors and assigns) to use their name or other information included in the tweet, for promotional purposes in any manner or media (including, without limitation, online), worldwide, in perpetuity, and without further payment, consideration, notice, review or consent.


Bell reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, modify or suspend this Donation Program if, in Bell’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion, or if viruses, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical difficulties or failures or any other factor beyond Bell’s reasonable control, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Donation Program. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Donation Program is a violation of law, and, should such an attempt be made, Bell reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Bell’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision of these Official Rules.


By participating, each Entrant forever and irrevocably releases and holds harmless Bell and its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, and their respective agents, advertising and promotion agencies, affiliates, partners and prize suppliers, and all of their respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents from and against all claims, damages or liabilities arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly.


Bell is not responsible for: (a)  technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to, the malfunctioning of any telephone, computer online systems, computer equipment, website, server provider, network, hardware or software; (b) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any website or service; or (c) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to Entrant’s computer, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant’s participation in the Donation Program, or from viewing, playing or downloading any material from Bell’s website(s), regardless of whether the material was prepared by Bell or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to Bell’s websites by a hypertext link.
